I was honored to have the opportunity to help take photos for the Epilepsy Awareness Month Launch Ceremony organized by Enlighten Hong Kong today. The launch ceremony was held at Bubba Gump Restaurant at the Peak and Anson Chan was there to officially launched the ceremony. More details and photos to be posted soon.
Well. I must clarify that I don’t shoot weddings… I was just one of those guests who brought a SLR to the wedding to take some snaps here and there… I will post a few up soon to share.
There are so many wonderful moments worth capturing for this family of 7 today … A baby girl just turned one, two of the family members just got graduated in the same week, and fall is also a perfect time for family pictures! We did everything in this in-home session today. Although I overran (AGAIN) in terms of time but I am sure we got many shots. Exciting photos to be posted soon!
As some of you may know, I would be launching a special for Tutus soon! This means that when you take photos with your baby wearing a tutu, you would get some yummy complimentary gifts or even discounts! (details tbc at promotion release).
So for moms with your cute baby girl that is over 6 months old now.. it is time to grab a tutu dress or a pettiskirt online for some dress up fun. The good thing about these skirts is that they can fit for several years of age. It is a perfect theme for outdoor session… especially if we take photos at a location with lots of greens and trees.
The following are my favorite Tutu shops (as recommended by my client). They make great quality tutus and they ship to Hong Kong. There are so many different styles you can choose from on their sites. I had some hard time finding similarly nice Tutu dress in HK. I know there are some shops at Li Yuen Street West in Central and Pottinger Street that sells tutu dress, and costumes, but the quality are not as good and are more towards “dress-ups” or “costumes” direction. If any of you know which shops in HK sells nice tutu dress, please let me know and I will post it up and share.
I had an in-home session with these two wonderful girls (4.5 years old & 6.5 years old) today. Besides taking some portraits of them, we also did some formal family portraits with their family and grandparents. Then we head out to a nearby park for some quick outdoor shots. It was indeed a fun and exciting day. More photos to be posted soon to share with you all.

Playing around with it for the past 10 mins already gave me a fun escape from my work! Now I share the fun with you here while I get back to work.. LOTS in progress!

I had been very busy and I would definitely ‘fill-in-the-blanks’ of my blog soon! :))))) There are so many photos that I really can’t wait to share with you all. For moms that are planning your photo sessions for your babies.. I would suggest to make your booking early especially for Saturdays and Sundays for the month of Oct / November as I am expecting those months would be pretty busy especially when there will be alot of holiday sessions taking place in preparation for the Christmas card photos! It seems a little early to mention the word “Christmas” now. … but time really flies as we speak and before we know it.. it is already there! I am already accepting bookings now for the holiday sessions. Let’s plan ahead for some wonderful outfits that fits the holiday theme (eg: have your baby wear something red) and insert that part of it into your next portraiture session. Those photos could be used for your holiday card! The good news is, Happyfotos would also be launching some beautiful photo holiday card designs to send your holiday wishes to your relatives and friends on printed card. And a tip is that.. late September, October and November would be very good time for location shoot (i.e.: outdoor at a park / beach) as the weather is really comfortable for babies and children. :)
To reserve your booking, please go to my portfolio website’s ‘booking’ section here. To ease your scheduling and planning, my update availability is displayed on the calendar. Any questions, just drop me an email at info@happyfotos.net or call me at 3116 1508. Looking forward for some fun with you soon!

I had the opportunity to teach a group of 8 teens on the basics of photography the past 3 days. I still remembered the first time I touched a camera in grade 9 and I found everything very fascinating. I wish I could contribute the same way my photography teacher did to my life. Although 3 classes are way too short in my context to learn anything really hands on yet. But today, I brought my whole portable studio to their classroom to demonstrate how I did a home-session! I had given them a SLR camera to try to take their own photos with their classmates using studio lighting as well. They are a group of fast learners and they got a hold on how a light meter works within minutes. I was very impressed by their learning speed. The day before, I showed them how they could edit their photos easily using Picasa. After today’s photoshoot, they immediately transferred their photos to their computer and did the editing like cropping, adding in special effects etc. They applied the skills learned immediately! I was very happy to see this! I hope today was a fun and memorable day for them!
Thank you gals & guys for the beautiful hand drawn card!! It was a lovely surprise :)

I am thrilled that my works are being exhibited at Cityplaza this weekend (i.e.: June 28-29, 2008). This photo exhibition is called “Happy Faces” and it featured some of the members of Enlighten whom I took pictures earlier as part of the Beautiful Moments project. This photo exhibition showcased many portraits of beautiful children and families with the biggest smiles and loving family relationships and its aim was to raise public’s awareness on epilepsy. I was strongly touched by their members and families during the photo sessions and I am grateful for having the opportunity to witness their loving bonds.
I look forward to serving many more people in the future and my life goal is to bring as many smiles and memories to as many people as possible, with my camera.
